Best settings for DVB Viewer PVR plugin on Android (Amazon Fire TV Box)
#1
Hi,

Just after some advice regarding the best settings for the DVB Viewer PVR client on Krypton 17.4 Android (on an Amazon FireTV Box)...

Do i need to enable transcoding or not within the DVB Viewer PVR client plugin?

What settings do people recommend for DVB Viewer Media Server backend when using Kodi for Android on a FireTV box? IE is *.ts suitable or *.mpg better?

I have the PVR client and Kodi working well, but having some strange issues recently with pixilation / pulsing on certain UK freeview channels. I believe this is probably due to the stream quality on certain channels (544x576) and possibly some issue with codecs / rendering?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

i'm using SPMC and Kodi on my ATV4k (1st gen) with 5GHz Wifi (2.4 GHz sucks).

On my backend i use W2K16 Server with DVBViewer Media Server 2.
I haven't made any special settings, since for an HD stream you only need ~20MBps.
Usually you don't need to transcode if your local network is at least 100MBit Only when watching via VPN i use transcode settings in Kodi 18 PVR addon.
