Linux Cannot exit Kodi from Ubuntu 17.10
#1
Hello all,

I have installed Kodi 17.4 on Ubuntu 17.10 and I cannot exit from Kodi.
The problem is that it start kodi just when I log in and I have to open another therminal to exit with CTRL ALT F3 and use that to login.
I have tried also to install kodi without any other software installed in Ubuntu and the problem persists.
Is there any way to solve this issue?

We will need some hardware+software details first, preferably via a Kodi debug log (wiki) file, uploaded to a pastebin website near you.

The bug is only with at login in Ubuntu 17.10 from standard GUI.
If enter with text login and use startX there is no issue with Kudi.
Please find pastebin

You need to select the login option "Ubuntu on Xorg".

See: How to Switch to Xorg from Wayland in Ubuntu 17.10 - https://itsfoss.com/switch-xorg-wayland/

Kodi for Ubuntu doesn't seem to work with Wayland just yet.

{Update November 2} : after a system update Kodi now works with Wayland. You can now select the default login option "Ubuntu"
