Do you advice doing a complete clean install of Kodi V18 on the Shield?
I upgraded v17 to v18 last night but it was laggy and slow, it even had problems buffering a movie on a USB drive.

It shouldn't matter. One question (or 2) that I should have asked before. Do you have a 16GB model (2015 or 2017?) or a Pro?

If you have a 16GB model do you have adopted storage?

OK, but do you have adopted storage?

Also, this might go faster if, again, you post a Debug log (wiki).

Got it, just had to figure it out haha.
Went and take a look in the Log files and saw some errors and warnings;

WARNING: ActiveAE - large audio sync error: 1254.398215

DEBUG: ActiveAE::SyncStream - average error of 159.076051, start adjusting

DEBUG: CDVDClock::ErrorAdjust - CVideoPlayerAudio::OutputPacket - error:86871.788143, adjusted:86871.788143

DEBUG: ActiveAE::SyncStream - average error -252.434922 above threshold of 100.000000

I got multiple messages/errors/warning of the above.

I also took notes of when the skipping/judder/stutter in movies occured....rewind the scene and played it again....its never at the same time just happens when it happens.

Hope we can go from here.

My setup;
Nvidia Shield (2015) Software Version 6.1
Kodi 18 Leia Nightly Build (have the same problems with 17.5.1)
Pioneer SC-LX 56K Receiver
LG OLED 65EF950V

Curious to know whether you get this issue fixed. I only have an HTPC and I think of replacing a part of my setup with an Nvidia Shield or a different Android box
