open you favorite file explorer, I use Total Commander and navigate to:
xml:/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.kodi.android.update
from there you can run the update apk.

So you start kodi installer, kodi is downloaded, kodi will crash, you install the update manually, the update will deleted on first start.
