v17 17.3 crashes on startup, no "ERROR" in log
#1
Kodi keeps crashing on startup. I've pasted the log here - https://pastebin.com/nMQzxPCE. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Crashing should create crashlogs. Look in the temp folder for other log files.

Any reason for not using the latest stable version?
That's not a Debug log (wiki).

Thank you. The only crashlog I could find (in User Reports in Console) is from the night before (I'm in Australia) when everything on my computer was borking terribly. Pasted here: https://pastebin.com/rP7dX9zV

I need a debug log (wiki) and a crash log for the very same occurence. Also the crashlog can be fetched from the crash reporter dialog immediatly when it tells you that it crashed.

I had no idea I wasn't running the latest stable version. Downloading and installing it has resolved my problem for now. I'm very grateful for your help and for informing me of what to do if this problem recurs.

And here's the Debug log - https://pastebin.com/Z0jbmPbK.

There is no crash log, because I probably used the wrong term in the subject line - it's hanging, not crashing, and requires a forced closure.

Thank you!

Ok - we call this freeze or deadlock. When exactly does this happen and how long did you wait for it to unfreeze?

Thanks for letting me know the terminology. It often happens on opening the application, and I wait at least five minutes. It never unfreezes. Sometimes it doesn't freeze. I haven't ascertained any kind of pattern, but it's become more frequent over the past week. It often crashes as well. If I can get it to run, I'll post a crash log and debug log, just for fun. :/

I really appreciate any advice you might have.
