Android Seperate data directory for nightly builds
#1
Please can we have a separate data directory for nightly builds.
I just started Kodi on my Nvidia Shield and all my addon settings got wiped out due to the Kodi 17.5 update.

The Nvidia Shield doesn't have fine grain control over Play Store updates: it is either all or nothing.
It is too dangerous to turn off updates due to security fixes.

I imagine it would need the Kodi Android package to be renamed for nightlies, like SPMC does for Kodi versions.

It's impossible that the addon settings got wiped due to the incorrect update. If something happened that would wipe them you did this yourself.
You could install the new v18 nightly and all would have worked out.
The update was an accident and could have happened at any point.

The addon settings were gone when I started up 17.5.
They do appear to be back now I've done a manual install of the latest nightly, apart from the ones that I looked at and pressed OK in the Settings dialog.

The format of the settings has changed from 17 to 18 so I presume most or all of them would appear reset in 17.5.
Any setting with a dot in its name becomes a new xml level in 18.
