v18 Mouse cursor misaligned on Android when using 720p or 4K resolution
#1
When playing 4K videos on Android on a 4K tv and using auto frame-rate switching so videos are playing true 4K, then it is impossible to use the bottom navigation menu in Kodi with a mouse/airmouse but it can still be accessed with an ir remote.
The bottom Kodi navigation menu is also a bit off the screen and misaligned but only in 4K resolution.
When using a 1080p tv then there are no such problems as everything then uses 1080p resolution mostly and 4K is downscaled.

A similar problem, when setting Kodi's GUI resolution to 720p then it's impossible to use a mouse/airmouse as you have to point the mouse pointer 2 rows up and more to the left for anything you want to select, the default 1080p@60hz Kodi GUI Setting don't have this problem.

Maybe related, the Kodi GUI while playing videos in 4K also looks strange with stripes.
If disabling auto frame-rate and 4K videos are downscaled then the mouse pointer and Kodi GUI problem doesn't exist.

Koying made a fix for the mouse pointer being misaligned in Kodi Jarvis, but it's not compatible with Kodi 17/18.

Device supports auto frame-rate switching using Android Display API.

I just want to know if it can be fixed with a Kodi setting, new commit or something in the Android OS to set.

The video is 4K, the tv auto switched to 4K resolution.
Video plays smooth.
The bottom Kodi navigation menu is off screen and can't be used with an airmouse/mouse.

In 4K resolution after auto switched, the Kodi GUI menus show grey stripes and don't look right.
I don't know what causes this, is it a bug or something about the Android frame-buffer, Kodi GUI resolution?

I found all these threads of mouse pointer problems on 4K tv's and decided to put them all together.

If you have a problem with the mouse pointer on a 4K tv being misaligned in Kodi 17/18 but it works in Kodi 16 using Android, please post your experiences and logs to help.

Troll response. How about fixing the problem instead?

The mouse pointer problem, stripes in 4K and auto frame-rate problems are all fixed in SPMC 17.
So I can only hope the patches will make it into Kodi someday, the mouse problem was already fixed in September 2016 by Koying and didn't even make it into Kodi Krypton or Leila yet.
