Does anyone know of an easy way to change what Addon a favorite opens with?

like when an addon closes down changing the tv show to a new one that is working,

without removing all the favorites and starting over adding them.

No, there is no easy way. You can just edit the favourites.xml file.

Which add-ons are you referring to that are closing down?

I would suspect a read of the banned addons (wiki) page may be in order here...
