Req Addon for Blizzcon
#1
Activision Blizzard hosts a gaming event every year which has both livestreams and recordings at www.blizzcon.com.
I would love to have an addon for Kodi that can show and save those.
Some of the Videos are free, some of them require you to have purchased access.

Website offers the streams as HLS from akamai and access is protected by Tokens, meaning the first request is returning cookies which you need to send for follow up requests.

Looks like the HLS akamai trouble with cookies has been solved in other addons already.

pvr.zattoo also solved the cookie issues .

The current way this seems to work is similiar to Netflix and Amazon Prime.
The site hands out MPDs and uses Widevine for DRM licensing requests.
This changed quite dramatically compared to previous years.

It may maks sense to extend this with the multiple Esport Events that Blizzard does. Mythic Dungeon Invitationals, Arena Tournaments and Overwatch League and turn it into a Blizzard addon instead although most of that is available on twitch too.

It is almost Blizzcon again, so if someone wants to do it, just raise your voice. I am happy to supply data and bug reports

It is a nice api that serves a JSON structure with urls for dash/hls with thumbnails and description and other metadata one could parse into a "folder" structure.
Unfortunately the video-plugin sample doesn't tell you how to add inputstream&widevine support on top of the whole stuff.

It has been moved yes, but the previous content is still in parts accessible (no idea what the license server will do about it) and even if not the event is just a weekend so it should be at least prepared a little bit before hand to not be too broken for live content and limited to the archived material.
