hi I am having trouble with my Kodi it's not playing any movies am i at the right place to discuss this problem?

No, but if you tell me which operating system you are using I will move you to the correct area.
Also you will need to provide a debug log. Instructions are in my signature below, but here is a quick guide...
1. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging then enable Debugging mode. Should be the first option
2. Restart Kodi
3. Replicate the problem. Run an Update Library and then try to play one of your movies.
4. Let it run a few minutes.
5. Upload the results. The log file is named kodi.log and it is located in C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata. You must locate this log file and copy it's contents to a public pastebin type site as follows:

- Navigate to the \kodi directory as described above, and locate the file named kodi.log
- Open the file with Notepad and copy all the contents of the document
- Locate a Pastebin type site. Two examples are https://pastebin.com/ or https://paste.ubuntu.com/
- Paste the contents of the kodi.log file
- Press Paste or Generate
- When the screen refreshes with your paste, copy the entire address in the address bar and paste it into a new message in your thread
