Release Google Drive for KODI
Ok so figured out it was an API ban! so need some answers from someone

1) is it possible to use the app adding gdrive as a source and just scanning these to the library only updating through kodi when i choose and this not effect the API ban?

2) Is it nessecary for me to use the .strm files saving them etc? or is it Ok to use the above method without incurring API bans.

3) Finally ....can i have the same kodi setuup with this addon and the same account logged in in more than one instance a family member using there kodi to stream from my drive simultaneously without that having an effect if so can i have as many people as i like using the same addon with the same account all streaming from the one google drive account.

I would really appreciate some help Thank You.

@freemz1 you see videos only because you entered the addon thru the videos menu. If you want to see pictures, use the Pictures menu.

@j_salters google won't delete your files for having your account in multiple devices.

@tremocoivo There is no android api. This addon and many other programs use the same google api to display your files. Google has quotas for the use of its apis and if you are sharing your account you will soon reach the quota and be "banned" for some time to use it. The google drive page and the google drive app could be not restricted by this quota, those are google products. You could try the playing your videos within the addon using the "transcoding" option. That doesn't use the api and may be you can skip the ban.

@Nelson0411 strm files uses the api only when creating the files and when playing a file, that means less use of the api. So you should try that method. And have only one device exporting the strm files and share those files with all your devices. You will need to add you account in all the devices. If you have your account in multiple devices and many of them are playing files, you will still get the ban.

Hello, I installed the gdrive addon and it works perfectly ... I wonder if there is any way to organize my gdrive library through kodi to see images and information from the videos

Hey @cguZZMan not sure what has cause it but seems to be the wrong data passes to account.py.  The error is "Extra data: line 23 column 2 - line 23 column 3 (char 2069 - 2070)".  I know this can be fixed by uninstalling, cleaning the library and pretty much refreshing kodi, but I'd rather see if we can fix this.  Log file: ufolitikes (paste)

specific line is here

@batnorris what kind of information are you looking to see?

@Adebisi_33 your log is an image. I need the debug log file. Also, how are you adding your videos to your library (strm or source mode)?

@batnorris you can export your videos to strm files and then add the folder containing them to your library. https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources

@raycekar I think I got that error once and then just tried again and worked. I think it happens when two different process tries to access and write the file at the same time. Maybe I need to change the way the account and export configuration is stored. I'll take a look.

Did you manage to take a look at encryption? The type of encryption rclone is using. Thanks

Yes I did, but I haven't found a clear way to integrate it with the addon.

Hello,

https://github.com/cryptomator/cryptomator

or: https://guardianproject.info/2012/04/03/...-iocipher/

Or Phyton: https://pypi.org/project/cryptosteganography/

or: Phyton KODI: https://github.com/ruuk/script.module.password.storage

can you add the date encryption because not everyone should be able to see everything

Encryption is really an essential function, please try to integrate

If you make a beta or alpha donate 50 €

@Soliver84 cryptomator looks interesting. I'll take a look.

I wonder if this addon emulates a virtual drive like rclone, added to encryption, I think it would be perfect. Via kodi, it could be used including in conjunction with a plex server, with libreelec or coreelec. But thanks and much as it is now, with resume and option to automatically alias the strm.

I've searched this thread several times, but does anyone know how to choose separate folders for individual libraries in Google Drive?

In Kodi, I want to have it so that my Movies library points to a folder I have just inside the root of my Google Drive called 'Movies', same thing for TV Shows (going to ' TV Shows')
It should look just like:

>Movies/Example Movie
>TV Shows/Example Show/Season/Ep.

When I set up a library on http://localhost:8587/source/ I can't seem to add anything else to the end to make it point to a specific folder. It needs to be something along the lines of http://localhost:8587/source/Movies

Doing it this way would speed up scanning times for both folders, but also keep things more organised and tagged better.

Does anyone have any idea how to do that?

Many thanks in advance
