Release Google Drive for KODI
@hozaizai Google has granted the addon access to Google Photos. Just add your account again and it should be working fine. Let me know

@vab.patel You could *technically* keep on using trakt wothout a hitch (and even resume points) if you use the google drive as a source, rather than using strm files

Actually I was using strm files a few days ago under my MiBox...

Well.. to make a long story short, I was using Resilio Sync as a way to keep all my strm files synced with my other MiBox boxes... then they suddenly started to fill up (no more space on the box)

I changed the setting to make google drive as a source, deleted sync and all the folders (which only contained strm files, so technically they shouldn't take too much space, but they did took about 500 Mb when in reality they only took 15 mb total for all my strm files)

After I made the change, suddenly I had Kodi back, working as if the google drive was a local folder (the only caveat is that it takes about 30-45 seconds to load a file), other than that... everything works great

@cguZZMan I have been out of action for a bit, so I didnt noticed your request of putting a ticket on github.. Im right on to it Smile

A new version is in my repository: Scheduled exports and Watch folder export.

Add an export as usual: Context menu of a folder, then "Export to .strm files..."
  • Select the Destination folder. The local folder with the strm files will be <Destination Folder>\<Your exported folder> (same as before).
  • The switch "Update library after export" will trigger the "Update library" after any change is detected by the "watch" functionality or after an scheduled export or manual export was executed.
  • The switch "Watch for changes in the Cloud Folder" will watch every minute for changes in your cloud drive folder. If a change is detected, it will replicate it in the local exported folder.
  • The switch "Schedule automatic exports" will enable the list of schedules where you can add multiple rows.
    • For example you can schedule the export to run "Every startup" or "Every Day at 02:00" or "Every Monday at 23:00" or all of them.
    • The hour format is 24 hours.
You need to save your export configuration. Also you can "Save & Run" to do an export right away after save.

Some others things to know:
  • Files with symbolic links or multiple parent folders are not supported.
  • Files with the same name under the same folder are not supported.
  • You can see your list of exports in the "Exports" option in the menu after selecting the account (Add-ons > Google Drive > Your Account > Exports). You can edit your export there.
  • In the list of exports, you can show the context menu and select "Run" to trigger a manual export immediately.
It's on the way to the Kodi Add-on repository. You can get it now if you have my repository.

  Absolutely awsome!

I only have a very small library to test but it has worked as planned so far.
I was wondering...would it be possible to also add 'When changed are detected' in the scheduled task section? (currently changes are detected in the cloud and the folder structure is replicated locally. It would be nice if also the .stm file were created at this point).

Thank you for the addon and especially automated .stm crreation. Been waiting for that for ages. I honestly didn't think it would happen.

* I think I found a bug. I noticed today when I select a video it shows the various resolutions as expected. If I select cancel as not to play anything the video starts anyway. So basically selecting cancel or pressing backspace does nothing the video still is activated.

@beljim7419 I'm not sure I understand your suggestion. When a new file is detected in your cloud drive, the .strm file will be created automatically.

The "select" dialog of Kodi doesn't have a way to tell when the dialog was closed because the cancel button was clicked or it was closed because NO selection was made (a timeout of 8 seconds is set to allow the continuity of the playing without the need to be forced to select a format each time a new video is played). Because of this, I made a preference of the continuity of the playing. If I'm playing a tv show season, I don't want the playing to stop in each episode just because the selection format dialog is there.
I'll build a new select dialog later to fix this issue.

@cguZZMan  Thank you, had to delete the account & re add for the plugin to work & the port has now reverted back to 8585 not 8587.

It may be my setup, I plan a reinstall soon.
*edit. It was my setup. Reinstalled and now working as expected.

Great.

Others things to know about the .strm exports:

@calisto it should be working as always. Check your addon configuration. The default port hasn't changed.

Yo cguZZMan, haven't tried out your add-on but if it doesn't rename STRM files of movies/TV shows to a Kodi friendly format, you should checkout this Python library.
