Does this require another machine to be running?
If yes, I don't have that option...
If no, please elaborate because I'm missing something.

Rclone can act as a server too, it has many commands, it doesn't only mount drives.
This is what this addon does, on android it loads your google drive as a webdav server.
On android you can't mount a drive without root, so this addon basically does what RCX for Android does.

Rclone by default uses -drive\-disable\-http2.
According to rclone's documentation.
Disable drive using http2. There is currently an unsolved issue with the google drive backend and HTTP/2.
HTTP/2 is therefore disabled by default for the drive backend but can be reenabled here.
So... rclone serves non http2 streams to Kodi.

Kodi in version 19 enabled http2 by default. HTTP2 works very badly with google drive.
If you disable http2 in Kodi you will get the same results you get with rclone which has it disabled by default and serves streams without it.

I personally prefer having an addon in Kodi that can get playable links from my google drive than using rclone, because it's a more simply approach that doesn't make changes to my system like mounting drives, creating servers etc.

Are you sure you add it properly?
This is how your advancedsettings.xml should look.

:

<advancedsettings>
    <network>
        <disablehttp2>true</disablehttp2>
    </network>
</advancedsettings>

:

<advancedsettings>
    <network>
        <disablehttp2>true</disablehttp2>
    </network>
</advancedsettings>
Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml

I didn't have the syntax lines, but I added those and now it's all setup the way you show.
But, still no improvement.

Problem: Cannot play videos, insane lag, frequent pauses & crashes.
2-5+ minutes before I see "loading stream formats" screen. [I have this enabled]
(at 5 minutes my black screensaver turns on, this happens nearly every time)
2-5+ minutes again ...

If a video manages to start...
only plays for a second or two before locking up the system with a black screen.
I even have videos in progress that will properly load to the second they should, but only play for a few seconds.
Then, black screen... frozen death.

My guess is that you're not running the same system that I am.
Can you verify what system you are using?

I'm using:
Nvidia Shiled pro 2019
Android 11
Kodi 19.3
Google Drive addon 1.4.10+matrix.2

Also, I have the advanced setting file & syntax to disablehttp2

This is my working assumption:

Yes, all of my systems are different, I don't have a shield.
Maybe you should try to create a http server on your shield of your google drive with RCX.
Download the apk from Github
https://github.com/x0b/rcx
And try to play to various players including Kodi links from it.
Your served links will probably be at 127.0.0.1:8080
If you get similar results then it's more of an issue with Shield's Android 11 update.

The add-on is absolutely beautiful and works nicely, I have one request, is there a way to make Kodi read 2 different gdrive accounts for the same TV show.

So for instance I have a TV show with 3 seasons and each season is on a different account, when I add to library I would like to see 1 TV show with all 3 seasons, but instead when you do this as soon as you add one to the library, it removes the other, so when you go to play season 1 after you just added season 2, the links are not found and so on.

I hope that made sense

No, this does not require another thing running you can even have encrypted drive running with this.

When I enter Google Drive on my Kodi on KII-Pro with coreelec, addon version 1.14.10 and Kodi 18.9, the movies are not seen, they appear, but when I press play they do not play.

If I enter Drive with a PC, everything is correct, folders, movies, everything... until a few days ago everything worked perfectly, but it has stopped working.

Any suggestion?

Thank you.

Is there any workaround to solve the problem of stopping and crashing when playing media from Google drive on nvidia shield after latest update with Android 11?
Update: I solved the problem as per "Carvajal" post as I mentioned below this.

Thanks, I can confirm that after adding those lines in the advancedsettings.xml file, now Kodi is working great, no issue with Google Drive. Great post.

Recently, the addon does not update changes over cloud. The google drive watching changes is staying at 0%.
Tried both on Leia & Matrix. But still the same. Everything work (eg. playing from existing strm file & playing manually by browsing through the addon) except it does not update changes happen in the cloud.

You have to do this: https://github.com/cguZZman/plugin.googl...issues/255

How do you add the file to the nVidia Shield?   No matter what I do, I cannot navigate to the appropriate user settings folder mentioned elsewhere Sad

Is there an option/solution to copy/download google photos to local folder, like it works for video files.

photos location is not availible to mount as source location in kodi.

I am using an old ipad as photo frame and slideshow app uses only local storage.

The addon allows for individual download of pictures. Could a simple sync option be added for particular photo album

Tnx.
