Add Desktop Application

I'm sorry if this is already posted somewhere else but I cannot find what I am looking for. Basically, I am using Kodi 17.6 for Ubuntu Linux 16.04 and I want to add short-cuts to my desktop applications. I already added one to Google Chrome but I cannot remember how I did it and I would like to add a shortcut to some games that I have installed on my PC (Minecraft, Doom, etc). Is there a tutorial or something somewhere? Can anyone help me?

 http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Advanced_Launcher - for programs
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=170965 - for chrome

Make a .bat file where the only contents are "run" and use that .bat as an external player for .exe files.

OP isn't using Windows, but is using Ubuntu. Things work a little different in Linux. Wink
