v17 Recommendations for adding cloud-based music to library
#1
Hi, new user here.
I am been playing around with Kodi lately, but could do with some advice on how to best use it with music (or videos) which are stored in the cloud.

I have done the following:
Upload music to Gdrive.
Install the Google Drive add-on in kodi and authorize it to access my account.

This does kind of work - the Gdrive add-on allows me to navigate the remote folders, select a music file, and play it. But it's not great UX: in the Music section, nothing is listed - obviously because the remote files have not been added to the library.

If I try to add a folder to the music library, I see there are options present to add local folders, samba shares, and even http/https. But I don't see a way to add a Gdrive folder. What I think would be neat is to have my media stored remotely but have Kodi index it and stream it on demand.

What is the recommended way to deal with this situation? I am open to using a different cloud service if necessary and/or using a different method of accessing the remote server. Whatever works really.

I looked into this myself for things like Onedrive and webdav but it was slow and didn't work as I wanted.

Still looking for a better solution, especially as I have 1tb of OneDrive for Business!
