Kodi shutting down on a daily basis.
#1
Hello everyone. I'm running Kodi 17.6 on a Windows 10 box. I'm getting daily "kodi stopped working errors" and the program quits. This is a new installation of Windows 10 64 bit education edition. As far as I can tell in the logs it's an issue with the audio card. To fix this I made sure my audio card drivers were up to date. I'm making sure the audio output setting is directsound. It seems to error out when I use either directsound or wasapi however. If someone who knows more about kodi error logs than myself has the time to look at the error logs and give me feedback, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Here is the last part of the log where it errors out. It seems like an audio driver issue to me, but I will leave that decision to the experts.

For your information, about providing a log file:
- Only provide FULL kodi.log files via Pastebin.com and similar websites, not just the part(s) that you find interesting.
- Please do not plaster useless log snippets directly on the Kodi forum.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Always use a paste site like pastebin.com. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Hmmm, that answer can be interpreted a number of different ways.

Simply, the device running Kodi, is there a TV or Monitor attached directly to it via HDMI?

Sorry, its not connected directly to my computer  I’m using kodi as a media server and playing content via the built in lg app for media sharing

I suggest you plug Kodi into your TV via HDMI.
