Android Dune HD Pro 4K - new high-end Realtek RTD1295-based device
#1
Dune HD announced today their 2018 product lineup.
There are several products there, but one of them has all it takes to compete for the #1 spot on the awesome list compiled by our very own @wrxtasy.

Dune HD Pro 4K uses the same SoC as Zidoo X9S (which is on the above list).
Although Dune HD has their own media center software, the device will make and interesting Kodi box.

Interested in this one too.. Still not a number one box
Zidoo x9s uses external player
My intel nuc is stuck on beta custom build
Vero 4k still doesnt do 3d

So still looking for perfect box with internal player for 3d

Dune sigma based chipset which are can't do hdr, bt2020 and 3d mvc but does support other 3d formats and users commented that it was one of the best 3d video performance.

The new one will also do 3D once released.

Sorry, but Dune, and Zappiti as well, are overpriced solutions, not worth it. Unless you want to use Zappiti as your movie/TV front end, but even then why, when Kodi and forks are miles better?! Realtek SoC's have always been 90% turnkey, so Dune and Zappiti, who are both behind the f/w development cycle vs. Zidoo, can only catch up to Zidoo's progress on this. I'm more interested in seeing what enhancements, if anything of significance on A/V performance, RTD1296 brings.

Agree, a do-it-all single box is pipe dream. Even if Vero 4K ends up doing 3D MVC, which seems more uncertain of late, it still lacks premium app capability.

I still like my VTEN very much. It plays anything I trow at it.  But still looking for a replacement that does the same AND uses KODI.
The Vero4K can be that one if only 3D works.

Don't know whether it would work on all Dune players, but check this out and ask at Futeko's forum.
