Can you please provide a Debug_Log (wiki). The instructions are in my signature. Use the Basic method. Once you have enabled debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging, restart Kodi then replicate the problem. In your case, perform the full Update Library. Then manually scrape a couple of movies and tell us which ones they were. Once done upload to pastebin and link back here. Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Karellen, I'll do that as well...

Hi Karellen,

I try to paste the debug log on pastebin but I get the following message...

You have exceeded the maximum paste size of 512 kilobytes per paste. PRO users don't have this limit!

Any idea how to overcome this?

I am really trying hard, but can't reproduce this issue, so we definitely need a log.

@Karellen, may I ask you to split out this issue from the scraper thread? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

https://paste.ubuntu.com/26288508/

Here is the debug log. For this trial, I scraped three movies...

The.Chronicles.of.Riddick.2004.DC.1080p.BluRay.x264.DTS.mkv
Insurgent.2015.1080p.BluRay.x264.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos.mkv
The.Foreigner.2017.1080p.BluRay.x264.DTS-HD.MA.7.1.mkv

For The Foreigner 2017 I manually scraped it with the refresh/reload option.

I hope this log can lead to a solution.

Sorry for the delay. Here's the log. Deleted the library as to start from 0, enabled the debugging, restarted Kodi, rebuilt the library with Universal Movie Scrapper, and then manually refreshed 3 movies: A Room with a View, Betty Blue and Bilitis.

Hope it sheds some light

P.S.: I have the same behaviour with the default TMDb scrapper that ships with Kodi. It doesn't scrap anything when adding a folder to the library, you have to refresh one by one. Maybe it's not the add-on after all?

Did you try with .nfo file?

Nope, and don't those need to be in the same directory as the movies? I have my disks as read only, so I'd need those to be on a separate directory. Never used nfo files though.

Anyway, I tried Kodi v18 build from 15/12/17 (KodiSetup-20171215-9bc8607c-master-x64) and there the scraping works perfectly. 70 movies were scraped automatically without trouble. So something in Kodi (not the scraper as olympia points out) must had been broken. No idea what. I guess with enough time and patience I could try build by build till I find the first one where things go to hell.

But at least we know this: between Dec 15 and Dec 28 something went broken.
