Advanced Settings for Music Library no longer working?
#1
Having successfully used Advanced Settings to shape my Music library in the past I've realized that commands such as <songinfoduration> and <musiclibrary> commands like  <recentlyaddeditems> are no longer working.  I've made sure they are in the correct LibreELEC folder and absent spelling errors.  It looks like they are executing in the logfile.  Any help/advice?

I have removed your log as we do not allow logs to be posted in the forum.

Please ensure you have enabled debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging, restarted Kodi then replicated the problem.

Repost your log:
  1. Locate a Pastebin type site. Two examples are https://pastebin.com/ or https://paste.ubuntu.com/
  2. Paste the contents of the kodi.log file
  3. Press Paste or Generate or Create New Paste
  4. When the screen refreshes with your paste, copy the entire address in the address bar and paste it into a new message in your thread
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

I apologize for my bad manners K and thank you for the help as well.  As it turns out, I am now suspecting that my troubles are predominately Skin-related, so I will go back and sort a few things out until I return to this thread if needed.

Happy New Year to All!

No problems. Smile

First place to check is the log. Open it, and within the first 100 lines of the log you should see all the advancedsettings.xml tags you entered, being processed. If you don't see it then you have either saved the file in the wrong location, or the file is not created correctly. Couldn't see that in your log as Debug Mode was not enabled.

At around line 20 you should see an entry like this... 20:29:20.979 T:7900 NOTICE: Log File is located: C:\Users\Master\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\/kodi.log That is where Kodi is looking for your log file.

I do not recognise <songinfoduration> or <recentlyaddeditems> as advancedsettings.xml entries. What are you actually trying to do?
Please ignore this post.
Karellen is right I'm talking arse, not the best start to the year. Going back to bed and staet again later (I'm getting too old to take the all night partying)

Hi Karellen :

I'm having the same problem with the AdvancedSettings.xml#songinfoduration
I set it up with a value of 0 but the info disappear at the default 10 seconds.
I check the log as you suggested, and it seems that the setting is loaded.

No problem with reading the <songinfoduration> setting, however it could be that it does not work in quite the way you expect.

With a value of 0 the track info will stay up continuously during music playback, after the first time you press <m> key to show this information. However if all you do is hit play then then you see the info for 10s on the first song. I have no idea if this is by design, or a bug that has crept in, but I can't see any specific code changes for Krypton.

What happens when you set a value other than 0?

Just confirmed it's not working in Krypton however it does now seem to be working for me in the Leia nightly development builds so whatever the cause was looks to be fixed.

Nope, incorrect. It behaves as I described in both Jarvis, Krypton and Leia - nothing broken, nothing fixed. The 0 => show info all the time works, but only applies once you have actively made it display the info during playback. The default show for 10s and fade happens otherwise.
