This particular m3u8 url (played from within a .strm file) for a live sporting event is playing from the beginning of the playlist instead of from the end. This very same url plays fine using mpv on ubuntu as well as in omxplayer in raspbian on Rpi2. The kodi is running on the very same Rpi2 in a dual boot setup.
My system setup info from kodi log:
The contents of the m3u8 file on https://pastebin.com/KM7KsM3r.
I have extracted the relevant section of kodi.log to https://pastebin.com/m0chtbpb. It seems that the initial ffprobe fetches the correct segment to determine the stream encoders (line no. 15) however the later fetches to play the stream starts from the beginning (line no. 63).
I have been trying to find a work around by searching through the forums as well as the issue tracking portals but without any luck at all.
Finding it hard to believe that no one else has reported similar issue yet.
