Hey now, I did a quick search to see if this has been requested before and I couldn't find it; I could be blind, but hey I tried.
Anywho, I'm very new to kodi and as the title suggests I am requesting the ability to override base CExternalPlayer methods (git /xbmc/cores/ExternalPlayer/ExternalPlayer.cpp) I haven't played with the addon/plugin system yet so i'm actually not sure if it exists, but from what I've seen I don't think it does.
But Why?
Because I'd like the ability to make addons/plugins to better interface with external players.
But How would this do that?
Well, in the example of MPC-HC you can use the webinterface to seek/pause/play as well as return basic media information like current position, So that show progress can be recorded and seeked to.
Downsides?
Might take 20min to make.
