How to play DVD-files stored on Synology NAS?
#1
Hello,

I have an Xbox One X and I managed to connect Kodi on it to a Synology NAS through NFS-protocol. On the NAS I have several movies in AVI, MKV and MP4 which all play fine.
When choosing to play the VIDEO_TS folder KODI mentions that the files cannot  be played.
On my RaspBerryPi 3 the DVD-files are playing just fine in KODI when I press the triangle sign om my remote.
Is there some kind of DVD-license to add or something onto the Xbox?
I'm trying to switch KODI from the RaspBerryPi to the Xbox. That's why I still have both options. Also when playing movies, the Xbox decides to show messages and dim the screen. This is due to the Xbox screensaver behaviour, which is resolved in the next release of KODI. Does anyone know when that will be?

Thanks in advance,

Only DVD ISO is supported. there is no way to play VIDEO_TS folders.

Edit: you can create an ISO file from your folders by UltraISO as an example.

PS. and please don't compare different systems RPi and Xbox.

I only mentioned the RaspBerryPi to clarify that there is nothing wrong with the DVD-files.
Anyway, many thanks. I know what to do. Keep up the splendid work.
