You are welcome! But maybe it may be of interest for you that I've found a workaround for the problem with the search. See Issue #55 - will be fixed with the next release

Hi,
I tried to install MediathekView Addon on my Kodi 17.3 version, but got this message in the logging file:

When trying to use the zip method, this messages appears:

21:38:05.341 T:140704833833024 ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(addons://search/) failed

What runs wrong?

I have previously been using Unithek, but I found this addon to be better and more reliable.

Great work on it!

However, I have one problem. As I am not a native German speaker, it greatly helps with subtitles. On Unithek, this is not a problem and I can just turn it on or off if it is available. I have so far not managed to get subtitles working on MediathekView. Do you have any tips how to achieve this? @tuxpoldo

Just working on it. See Issue #78

This is pretty cool plug-in. Thank you for that!

Wondering if it is possible do an incremental DB update instead of the complete one?

Thanks

Hi folks!

After a lot of time, a new release has finally come out. Enjoy!

v0.5.0 (2018-08-08):
  • Download option was missing in the context menu of some movies
  • Support for older MySQL and MariaDB Versions
  • Downloaded update files are deleted immediately after import
  • Possibility to play a show with subtitles either with "Play with subtitles" in the context menu or automatically if configured in the plugin settings (if "Autoplay with subtitles" is enabled in the settings, the context menu command is not shown since it makes no sense)
  • Search history
  • Faster directory listing of live streams
  • Possibility to download a show as Movie or as Series Episode. This implies two different configurable download locations, a different file naming scheme and different types of NFO files created
  • Three different NFO file creation modes (None, simple or extended)
  • Automatic detection of season an episode if possible
  • Improved download settings (download locations, filename confirmation)
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the creation of the SQLite database on some systems
  • More efficient database layout
  • The mvupdate script has got some additional options: --force and --interval
  • "Update On Start" initiates the update when the plugin is invoked by the user
  • Display of database type and version in the log file

Thank you.  After updating, nothing is working not even the DB update.  I'll check the logs and hope it's just me.

Hi, thank you very much for your addon.

reads like you can download movies to watch them offline. If I interpreted it correctly, could anyone explain to me how I can download a movie to disk and how I can choose the destination?
I did not find any option respectively a setting. (OSMC 345, Mediathekview 0.5.0)

Edit: I finally found the options myself. :-)

Hello everybody,

I have a nasty problem with a clean-installed Mediathekview under my Fire-TV 4K Stick Kodi-Setup:

When I click on "Datenbank aktualisieren" Kodi tells me that my DB is going to be updated in a few moments. MEdiathekview starts to ownload the "Filmliste-akt.gz", but after the download completes, nothing happens, the db is not going to be initially build or updated.

It seems that Mediathekview can't decompress the .gz-file:

22:17:27.714 T:18446744071768066336 NOTICE: [plugin.video.mediathekview-0.5.0:Updater]: Trying to decompress gz file...
22:17:43.174 T:18446744071768066336 ERROR: [plugin.video.mediathekview-0.5.0:Updater]: gz decompression failed: [Errno 22] Invalid argument
22:17:43.175 T:18446744071768066336 NOTICE: [plugin.video.mediathekview-0.5.0:Updater]: Return -1
22:17:43.175 T:18446744071768066336 NOTICE: [plugin.video.mediathekview-0.5.0:Updater]: Cleaning up downloads...

Is that problem known? What can I do to solve it?

Debug log here

Kind Regards,

Germeleon.

Hi,

it really seems that some people with FireTV 4K are affected by this problem. Unfortunately it was not possible to reproduce the problem on other platforms. The new version 0.6.0 that will be released as soon as the pull request for the Kodi Repo is accepted will add some additional debug information that may help in finding the cause of the problem. If you like, you may install the 0.6.0 version from the beta repository. See Issue #103 on GitHub.
