Start KODI with TV off
#1
Hi there!
I can't recall if this issue has been there all the time or just appeared some time ago. If I reboot my Linux box with KODI installed via SSH and the TV I have connected to is switched off KODI is never being started. Once I switch the TV on I see KODI's bein loaded. Is there a way to have KODI started without TV (read screen) connected? I use a systemd unit to start KODI.

If Linux can't read EDID from the monitor, the graphics driver won't start. Depending on your gfx driver there are different ways to force edid. check out: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ker...s_and_EDID

I had a related issue years ago with my Toshiba TV - could not get the EDID if the TV was not running - I think that at that time I was still on VGA.
I got the EDID out of the running TV and then forced it later on xorg...It worked.
