XBOX H265 4k very Slow
#1
Hi,

After the second update, the h265 4k go very very slow, as a “moviola mode”.
Before the update no problem with them, on xbox one S.
I use NFS in Kodi with my Synology Nas over gigabit ethernet.
Sorry for my English
Regards from Italy

I use pendrive 16GB class 10 and 4K movie is very slow...i thinking is a pendrive limit speed but i see other people have the same problem.

I connect pendrive to LG55sj800v and this tv read and playback all files very good. This is not pendrive problem but kodi.

Ps:lg read .ts 4K with no problem Wink

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Always use a paste site like pastebin.com. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

We’ve had to disabled hardware decoding of hevc/x265 since 4k Main 10 content was causing crashes, so now that’s it’s software decode only the crash issue is solved but certain content maybe too much for the xbox cpu to do software decode.

Is it also disabled in the Android version? Having similar issues on a Fire TV.

Actually I got it slightly wrong before, I thought hevc hardware decode had been completely disabled, but just double checked and it’s only disabled for 4k hevc main 10, so any 4k hevc that IS NOT main 10 profile should still be hardware decoded.

A log file will say for definite, if you're experiencing problems with the log uploader then use File Manager to copy Kodi.log file to your NFS share, that is assuming you've then also a PC that can then connect to NFS share to grab the file and copy to to a paste site. Within File Manager you add the Home folder as a source to access your Kodi userdata folder on the xbox hdd and then your remote NFS share.
