Solved [Android] Kodi 18 on Android crash just after closing it
#1
Hi.
On Nvidia Shield, with kodi-20180121-6b3552ed-master-arm64-v8a, Kodi crash just after closing it.
To be more detailed it is Android that, after closing Kodi, inform that Application closed unexpectedly...
I think you will not find any error about that crash in Kodi Debug log beacuse it's Android that informs the Application closed unexpectedly (but, I think, it happens when Kodi is already closed so, mat be, Kodi is not able to write that crash in the log).

May be the crash is related to that issue: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=327333 ?

This is the Kodi Debug log: https://pastebin.com/raw/6kd0bHAR
It's the same Debug log that I used for that issue: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=327486 but that crash issue happens independently of that audio issue.

For my experience that issue was born since that version: kodi-20180113-9d123033-master-arm64-v8a (so after "Jan 11, 2018" or "Jan 12, 2018" GitHub commits). Those commits were done also to solve the "Kodi frozen when loading", see: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=326934

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with the alpha and latest nightlys. Does the regular arm version work better on shield?

Cheers

It should be the same if you mean "32 bit" for "regular".
The Shield has a 64bit processor and a 64bit Andorid operating system, so why to use the 32bit version if it fully support the 64bit version?
The crash problem should be independently of 32bit or 64bit version.

This problem seems to be disappeared with the new firmware 7.0.1 on Nvidia Shield TV (Android 8).
Thread marked as Solved.
