I use an add-on (unofficial) that pulls from youtube. This add-on uses script.module.httplib2. I think the add-on maybe has a problem with recent googleapi changes, and so falls back to using httplib2 for https. The add-on is exiting due to httplib2 receiving an SSL cert fail. I got a current version of cacerts.txt and that fixed the error.
It appears the httplib2 source from https://github.com/httplib2/httplib2/tre...2/httplib2 has a release 0.10.3 which I used to replace the one in Kodi repo (0.8.0). That version of httplib2 (including the cacerts.txt from the release) also works. I get that requests is probably a better module than httplib2, but I'm not the add-on author.
So request a review to see if the official script.module.httplib2 can be updated.
