Linux Kodi, devuan and iTunes Library
#1
Hello

I have a large iTunes Library. The actually library is hosted on a Devuan Linux box in an ext4 filesystem.
It is NFS to the Macs running MacOSX.

I would like to use Linux instead of MacOSX to access the iTunes Library.

I have tried Plex and rejected it. Plex wants to do many things the "PLEX" way.
I am not going to relabel the entire iTunes Library to just use Plex or any other software.
I am not going to reorganize the entire iTunes Library directory structure to satisfy Plex or any other software.

I am able to export the iTunes Library as a tab delimited file.
One for music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.

All of the media files in the iTunes Library have metadata and cover art.

I have searched for "Kodi and iTunes". much of what I found is old. Mentions "Firefly" which is no longer supported nor maintained.

I would like to be able to import Playlists in m3u format into Kodi.
I can export the playlists in either XML or M3U format.

The directory structure the iTunes Library is simple.
Music
Artist/Album/Songs
TV
Show/Season/Episodes
Movies
Title/Movie

Nearly all TV Shows and Movies have a SRT subtitle file.
None of the Movies nor TV Shows have DRM.

Basically, I want to install Kodi. Point Kodi at the iTunes Library and be able to run it.
is this possible?
Would I have to go through hours of setup?

The only thing Kodi would have to do is play the Media files.
There is nothing that Kodi would have to fetch from the Internet.

I have not looked at Kodi since the name change. The last time was on an old Intel Pentium III box.
The Current box is AMD 64bit with 64GB of Memory running Devuan.
