While you are all waiting for IPTV Simple Client to add recording you might like to try this addon out: IPTV Recorder

It grabs the xmltv/m3u links from IPTV Simple Client and uses them in a normal python addon.
It supports Record, Watch, Remind timers for Once, Daily, Always rules.
There is also support for searching Title, Plot and Categories.
