How could I avoid it?

a) increase the amount of memory tmm can use
b) decrease the size of your library (e.g. create some smaller tmm instances for different aspects of your media library)

as this is everywhere in modern IT: the hardware must match to the software; you can't run a heavy server on a raspberry pi.
the same is for your library - shrink it! your computer specs obviously cannot handle the size of your library! (and you are almost the only one I know who has problems with that!)

Many thanks!

Yes, but then it will not start anymore.

How could I do it? What are instances here? Could you give an example?

How should I do it? Just remove movies / series?

So this is not enough?

since tmm is portable, you can use different tmm installations with different data

1. download tmm twice and create 2 folders for tmm (tmm_movies; tmm_tvshows)
2. in the tmm_movies installation only import movies
3. in the tmm_tvshows installation only import tv shows.
4. do not open both at the same time

Could I do it that way:

I keep the old / already used tMM. I remove all of the series from its database. Or has using a new tMM advanteages?

I download and use a second tMM I import the series with. And I just need to update the database, is it right? Can I import / copy the settings / pathes of the old tMM to the new one?

yes should be doable - but your cache folder will stay big since all tv show related cache files survive Wink
and you can copy your settings to the new tmm instance for sure

Ah, OK, that would not be good. So I would have to do it from the beginning.

How?
