I've had this issue for years. If i go to watch a program that is currently being recorded i can only watch up to where it was when i started watching even when the recording has moved along .e.g if i start to watch a recording that has been recording for 15 minutes I can watch those 15 minutes then kodi jumps out to the recorded programs menu even though there is now an additional 15 minutes of recording which occurred while i watched the first 15 minutes. If i go back i can see 30 minutes of recording and have to fast forward the 15 minutes i have already watched. Then at 30 minutes it jumps out again even though now there is 1 hour of recordings. Again i have to start watching from the start and now forward 30 minutes to watch the new 30 minutes of the recording.

Is there anything i can do so that i can watch a program that is recording all the way through ? It drives me crazy. Is it a kodi issue or a nextpvr issue. Please assist.

It's a Kodi limitation when playing streams over http.

I'm not streaming over http. it' live TV and nextpvr and kodi are on the same pc. Do the two devices use http to to pass the Tv program between them ?

Yes, NextPVR gives Kodi http urls to the recordings. (regardless of whether you're on the same machine, or different machines)

As far as I know this is not a Kodi limitation (anymore) but your add-on not implementing the GetStreamTimes API function (correctly)?

any way to fix the add on for Nextpvr Getstreamtimes function ? Is there a fix or workaround ?

Ah, ok - I wasn't aware of that.

It's been a while since I made any changes to the addon, but I've spent the morning getting my kodi development environment working again, and I've been experimenting with GetStreamTimes(). Honestly, at this stage, its really not clear how I should initialise the values. I've ready the few comments on the structure, looked at the couple of addons that have implemented it, and tried feeding in various values, but it doesn't seem to be affecting anything I'm seeing.
