Found the problem! the issue comes from the fact that depending on how you open the zip file, Windows may tag the files inside as unsafe. This prevents MyMovies from accessing the file after it's been unzipped.
If that happens to you, you need to right click on XBMC.dll in the "MetaData Storage Handlers" folder, then click Unblock and Apply. To avoid any issue, it's generally better to do this on the zip file itself before extracting anything else from it. Hope it helps.
