Win Keymap bugs
#1
Please take a look at https://pastebin.com/ThCqhBku.  There are some issues as noted below:
  1. I wanted the Radio button on my remote to bring up the Timer Rules window without changing my remote's map as that would affect other programs.  According to the MCRemote addon, that button sends a Ctrl-A.  So I created a rule in the keyboard.xml mapping it.  But nothing happens when I press the radio button on the remove or type on my keyboard Ctrl-A.
  2. The back button doesn't work in the search pane.  The ESC key on my keyboard does work.

Did you try using https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Keymap_Editor via the GUI, it usually works much easier than editing xml files.

Yes, but it didn't work very well.  It only gave me a moment to enter the desired key combination.  Then I had troubles confirming I ended up with the desired result as it only displayed a mysterious number for that entry.

Did you look at the source I gave?

I created the keyboard.xml file at https://pastebin.com/WddA0xid.  I have what appears to be an eHome remote.  Pressing TV Recordings or TV Guide on the remote does nothing with this map.  Plus, the map doesn't direct the radio and music stuff to features I'd actually use.  (My music on this machine is MusicBee.  No 10-foot interface, but the AutoDJ feature is nice.)  However, both radio and music buttons do their default functions?  Is my file corrupt?

I'm using a backup map at the moment, but I'd like this one working.

Got one working.  See https://pastebin.com/5EUV48Us.  Note, the samples I found declare a lot of tags inside <keymap> that seem to be invalid.

Next, I assume the keymap editor provided by the MCERemote addon is way out of date.  First, it chokes on the <?xml> tag at the start of the file.  It also complains if it finds a section that doesn't start with <keyboard>.  So in some cases I had add empty <keyboard> tags to satisfy it as I was using it to validate my file.  Finally, that editor ignores any tags inside sections that aren't <keyboard>.  So if you have something like <remote> in your map, that editor will strip them out.

It doesn't even list the mapped items from my keymap.xml.  That extension seems to be junk.

One thing I'd like to see happen is that when I press my Videos button, mapped to Ctrl-v, I'd like to go straight to a specific media folder.

I had to resort to backing up.  Now I'm making it read-only in the OS.  That might not have any effect, but I'm trying it.

I saw them as only somewhat related.
