v17 Problem with Kodi and DigiOne Allo
#1
Hello,
I have a DigiOne Allo and I'd like to try with Kodi for my Raspberry pi3+.
I installed Raspbian desktop and Kodi 17.6.
The problem is that in the audio preferences I can choose only snd_digione_all analog and not SPDIF

this is what I get from aplay -l

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: sndallodigione [snd_allo_digione], device 0: Allo DigiOne HiFi wm8804-spdif-0 []
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

any help, please?
P.S. I tested also LibreElec 8.2.5 and the DigiOne Allo Spdif is recognized but the AC3 passthrough is broken

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Always use a paste site like pastebin.com. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

Look at this thread on the LibreELEC forum: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/12047-allo-digione/

In order to get a SPDIF output device you need an ALSA card conf. We added that to LibreELEC 8.2.5 so passthrough should work there.

so long,

Here is the alsa.conf, if it works with Libreelec it should work in Raspbian:

Where should I put the AlloDigiOne.conf in Kodi (under Raspbian)?

I put it in /usr/share/alsa/cards/ of root directory...not under a kody folder. Is it rght?
No change in Kodi.

Yes, that's right. Did you enabled the dtoverlay for that board ? See post #4 and #5 from the Libreelec forum above.
Also you seem to be using berryboot which ships with it's own kernel, that might be a problem.

Ok, it works, I can choose DigiOne SPDIF passthrough, but while DTS is ok, AC3 is broken, a terrible noise from my speakers!!!
