Cannot access mapped network drive on RPi
#1
Hi All,
I have a RaspberryPi 2 running Kodi latest version. This is a fresh install.
I used to be able to map a network drive from my Windows PC and directly transfer files to the Pi USB attached HDD.
Since installing Samba server on this new install it keeps asking for a network password to connect.
I have found many instances of this problem on various websites, but no solution??

I tried adding a user "osmc" with password "osmc" with no luck.

Samba server has nothing to do with Kodi.
Kodi is "just" an application.

This question is better asked on the forum of the OS you are running, which is osmc.
Ask at https://discourse.osmc.tv .

Samba version 2 requires you to have a Windows user with full credentials. That means a user WITH a password.
So if your current Windows user has no password (...), you could also create a new user on your Windows machine that has a password, just for your shared files.
