Req On the fly Audio transconding for DLNA / UPnP
#1
Hi.
My TV, with its internal Media Player, is able to reproduce files with Dolby Digital (5.1) as audio track.
Instead with files with only DTS as audio track no. It reproduces the video but the message "audio not supported" is displayed.

Is it possible to enable the "on the fly" audio transcoding for DTS audio track (DTS converted to Dolby Digital) for DLNA / UPnP as Kodi already done for the "normal" use?
If not, any chance to implement that in Kodi 18?

Thanks.

it's not yet possible. For this to be possible, the core components of Kodi need to be further untangled, which is worked on atm. After all components are untangled and we have the possibility to run multiple player instances at the same time, things like PIP and transcoding will be possible to implement at this point, but it's still a long road to go. So it very likely won't make it into v18

OK, many thanks.
I just hope it will not be a forgotten feature to implement.

Thanks!
