WebSocket on TCP port
#1
Hello,

Sorry if I am asking a stupid question. But I am wondering why the WebSocket connection has to be opened on the TCP port rather than on the HTTP port.
Other services I am using are using the same port for both HTTP and WebSocket, which makes reverse proxy support a lot easier.

I see a lot of posts with users struggling with reverse proxies, and some struggling with port overlap with other services.

It seems that setup of both remote control apps and such would be a lot easier if both were running on the same port.

So is there any specific reason for Kodi that this is not possible?
