Is there any way to get audio over HDMI with my TV off? I have my HTPC hooked into an Onkyo ST-3400 receiver, and it would be nice to be able to have the receiver on and quickly just pull up a playlist on my phone and gun it, from anywhere in the house, without fiddling with the TV. As it is now though, with my TV off Windows just assumes my ears are off too and cuts the audio.

I seem to be able to do this with the Onkyo TX-SR333 and my set-up, there is a brief bit when I shut down the TV (2 secs) and the audio just comes back online. Wondering if Audio return channel (ARC) or allowing passthrough on the reciever is responsible? I'm using one of the Kodi nightlies, but I seem to have always been able to run spotify with an androdi device etc without the display. I was going to mention HDMI handshaking and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI but if I can get this feature, you can too.
