TMDB for mTV working?
#1
I installed the TMDB for TV scraper version 2.05 but can't get it to produce any results. I'm trying to scrape "20000 leagues under the sea (1997) s01e01". the underlaying system is Windows 10 and KODI 17.6.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try adding the ',' in 20,000 as scrapers can be picky.

Thanks but the "," made no difference.

Provide a full Debug Log which captures you trying to scrape the show. You will need to remove from the Source first, Clean Library then move back and scrape.

The scraper is the TMDB TV scraper. Not the TVDB scraper.

No it is not...

xml:
ADDON::CScraper::FindMovie: Searching for '20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA' using The TVDB scraper (path: 'C:\Users\Media\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\metadata.tvdb.com', content: 'tvshows', version: '3.0.5

Your problems are...

1. Either find the title at TVDB, or change the scraper in use to TMDB. See guide link in next step for info.
2. Each TV Episode must be in their own TV Show folder. You cannot just dump all episodes from different shows into one folder. See the guide... https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files

The scraper I am using is documented in the WIKI here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:The_Movie_Database. Please note the second bullet of section 2 states "metadata.tvshows.themoviedb.org- Used for scraping TV Show metadata and artwork from TheMovieDB database It is important to be aware that these are two separate scrapers. They must be individually enabled if required." More detail is provided in section 4 TMDB - for TV shows.

The alternate scraper can be found in the Kodi repository under Information providers - TV Information - The Movie Database By Team Kodi version 2.0.5. This is a different scraper then the one under Movie Information.

@weaverdr

I am fully aware of the TheMovieDB- TMDB TV Show scraper. (I wrote that wiki page)

I am trying to tell you that, even though you think you are using that scraper, you are not. You are still using TVDB as evidenced by the line in Quotes.

Make sure you followed the instructions of the red text in section 2

You are correct that that log file showed the TVDB. I must have fat-fingered something. Here is a second try. https://paste.kodi.tv/dayejoladi

Searching for '20000_LEAGUES_UNDER_THE_SEA' using The Movie Database scraper (path: 'C:\Users\Media\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\metadata.tvshows.themoviedb.org', content: 'tvshows', version: '2.0.5')

This version is in a different Source and Folder and is named differently. Do you have multiple entries for this show on your drives?

Anyway, you need to correctly name your shows as follows...

TV Show - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1997)
Episoes - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1997) S01E01

Try that. It worked for me.

Not Normally but I did set that one up to try various approaches.
Yes, it works for me, too. Thanks much. KODI is a fantastic product and surprisingly well documented. I hope I didn't offend with my intransigent misunderstanding of what you were trying to tell me.
Thanks again.

Great, glad it worked. Smile

Nah, no offence at all. It is the naming that trips most people up. I always copy and paste the title from the scraper site as it prevents errors creeping in.

Enjoy.
