any help to make subtitles work after stopping the movie?

subtitles download okay from both subscence and opensubtitles. but its gone after I stop the movie. I use a NAS to store all my movies and I have selected the option to store subtitle file in the movie folder.

I changed that to a custom folder in kodi but that didnt help.

the logs are available here

Kodi may use the TEMP folder when storing/saving a subtitle file is impossible at the default/video's location.
The temp folder is not checked for subtitles when starting a video.
Yet your downloaded subtitle is in the video's own folder?

"file.ar.srt"... I take it you mean "<moviename>.ar.srt", whatever the movie is you have, and not a file called "file.ar.srt"?

What i meant is that
i changed the option from store in movie folder to a custome local folder in my movie player.
I able to see the subtitle file and kodi name it exactly as 'file. Subtitlelanguage. Srt'
But when i play the movie
Kodi will not recall the subtitle

Since your Kodi device involves OSMC, perhaps @Sam.Nazarko can have a closer look.
