I am running Kodi on RetroPie and just recently linked it with smb to my computer. While linking I left the shared folder path empty and just wrote the ip address. when I open it up I can only see the C: drive( which has the OS installed if that is important). If I try  writing the  file path for the D: drive an error pops up saying error 2: share not found. When I open the network folder in my PC and open my computer's folder there also the D: drive is invisible. I am a kodi and networking noob so sorry if the information is inadequate, I will provide any info necessary when requested.

Referece to D: drive suggests a Windows PC - but which version?
You will need to perform some setting up on the PC to share the drive/files - there's lots of good stuff from a google search!
