Solved Does Kodi 18 work well with SMB and access to Synology?
#1
I'm still running Version 16 of Kodi because 17 did not work with my Synology server using SMB.
Tried a couple of time but always went back to 16. It does a great job in 16, why did 17 was not able to do the same?

Looking forward testing with 18 on a new box I'm getting.

That's a bit odd. There is no reason why that combination would not work (apart from the whole SMBv1 charade).

I never found out how to get it too work and with 16 it took 2 minutes to program SMB. It works fine

Works for me on both 17 and 18.

Add network location> Protocol = Windows network (SMB)> Server name = ipaddress of nas.

I used 16, 17, and 18 with a Synology NAS, no problems at all. The issue here is not on the Kodi or Synology side, you have something misconfigured.

OK thanks

It works well.

New box, quick with Android 8

I mainly use it for access to my Synology and the old box was sluggish and kept shutting down by itself.
