Hey there.

So I finally got Boxee out of the attic and even managed to install Boxee Plus so I could use Kodi on it. I have been using Kodi on the Amazon FireStick but it teds to get too hot and the wifi connection is far from perfect. I do prefer Ethernet. However the version I have is 1.4.6, and apparently I need 1.5.3!!
Googled for the 1.5.3 version but cannot locate it at all, BoxedIn seems to be offline now but then it has been a few years now.

Can anyone point me to the 1.5.3 (or even 1.6.0) version I can download from please?

Keep us posted, my Boxee Box is still in the closet. Hate to get rid of it, even though, it may never be used again.

If you know the exact version for the 1.6 you can substitute the 1.5.1.23735 in the link and it should be available to download.

I'll give that a go. Once everything is set up I'll post my step by step guide because despite the many webpages that contain the guides some people experienced the same issues I did and I only managed to get through them was find obscure replies from some out of date message boards.

Boxee Box may be past it now but its worth keeping for other rooms you may want to use Kodi. The fact it has Ethernet is the big plus for me since my wifi in the house is pretty poor in some areas.

Me too. I loved my original Boxee Box. So much so that sometimes I would stare at it rather that watch the movie it was playing. An update on how it functions with Kodi would be good, I may use it as a backup. Thanks.

Hey all.

So I DL'd both versions of that Boxee ISO, tried to mount them on VD and cut them to DVD but no such joy, claims the file is corrupt, but it may be just me Sad

If anyone can manage to rip the contents from the ISO linked above and provide as a ZIP file online somewhere I am opportunistic we can get Kodi working on Boxee. We just need that newer version of Boxee plus (hacks) to work!!

But don't have hi hopes for newer versions of Kodi
If I understands it the Boxeebox needs newer version of the Linux kernel but no one manage to fix that

Its the Boxee Plus (Hacks) ver 1.6.0 that I am trying to get hold of. It is in the boxee.ISO file in an earlier reply but I am not able to mount it on a Virtual Drive or burn to disc as my PC claims it is corrupt. If anyone can mount it and pull the files to ZIP to a zip file online I and many others would be able to run Kodi from a USB stick once we have updated our Boxee hacks to 1.5.3 or 1.6.0. My current ver of 1.4.6 will not allow me to use Kodi.

Edit: if you want to read the .iso use something like 7zip it can extract everything in it

Can someone help me with the boxee + hacks? I am a true novice so maybe this is why I am having a problem. Ive tried to follow the instructions in the previous posts but the links are either dead or the program isn't working. I tried to extract the ISO file with the program on my laptop so that I can install it on a USB stick but I get a message that says the file is corrupt. Has anyone been able to install the boxee hacks recently?

I apologize for not starting this as a new thread. BUT I could not find which section this post was on.

I have a boxee box and am not looking to put kodi on it.
Just wondering if the boxee can read a drive formatted as ext3.

For your boxee hacks, your iso must not be a legit version verify the sha1sum. Also I dont know where the link is for the boxee hacks.
