Solved Kodi V18 alpha crashes right when launching .avi files
#1
Hello, as stated in title, K18 alpha crashes right away when launching any .avi file (tested many).

It only does it on my livingroom system (WIN10 on intel based machine) and not on my desktop machine (WIN10 on nvidia).

Any idea why ?
Regards
Cédric

Any reason to not test with v18 alpha3 or a more recent nightly?

I can't see any video playback in this log. As you told Kodi crashes, you have to share kodi.old.log, if you restated Kodi after the crash and before saving the kodi.log.

 I just noticed I used alpha2 ... my bad.

But after putting alpha3, same problem. You got the logs below.

Don't know if it gives the necessary info, but debug logging isn't enabled.

Can you try again to play the same file from a local disk and disable 'Skin Helper Widgets'.

Desinstalled skin EstuaryMOD2, disabled Skin Helper Widgets and tried again on local copy of the file, but same crash happened.

Yes I already had a look, but do not know what goes wrong.

Can you cut a short part out of the video, check if it sill crashes Kodi and upload it somewhere?

I've tested tens of .avis ... all crashes (locally or in network shares).

They all are played fined if I chose 'software decoding' and not dxva or automatic.
Must be related to the Intel chipset.

Here's a file which makes it crash : avi

Update ...

An update was available for the Intel drivers ... and installing the latest version of these solved the problem.
Now everything is working flawlessly.
