Hi, I use Kodi on my laptop. The most important thing to me is live news channels. I use IPTV simple client and until lately everything worked perfectly. Now some of the American channels links stopped working such as MSNBC. I'm not such an expert and I'm not sure whether I'm doing something wrong, whether I should use some other way to view live tv and how I can find more American news channels. I'd appreciate your help.

This sounds like a source related issue. Kodi does not provide streams so you might consider seeking help from those who provide them.
As far as MSNBC is concerned, you might look into our Kodi official repository as there is a dedicated add-on for it.
