Setup:
KODI 17.6 (bypass enabled, speaker channel: 5.1, DSP is disabled)
Xiaomi Mi box: upgraded to the latest Oreo. In device setting, surround sound is configured as "auto"
AVR: Yamaha RX-V663, connected to Mi box through HDMI
Movies are stored in Synology DS218 NAS (it is connected to KODI using FTP)
Dolby and DTS 5.1 channel is bypassed well and my AVR can decode Dolby and DTS 5.1 into 5.1ch without any issue.
But when I played movies which are encoded with AAC 5.1, I cannot hear anything.
In AVR display panel, I can see that 2 channel PCM signals are input to AVR, but I cannot hear anything.
For comparison, I tried the same movie files with MX player in the same Mi box -- I can see the mutli-channel PCMs are input to AVR and I can hear multi-channel sounds.
Can anyone please help me to resolve AAC 5.1 issue?
