Kodi 18 Beta 1 Network Issues
#1
Okay community, I had asked this question before but had addons installed that violated the rules. So I wiped it clean and started fresh to see if I can uncover the issue with Kodi 18 on my iPhone X.

So before I give the log info, a bit of background. My Kodi was running great on the very first alpha build of 18, both on IOS 11.x.x and iOS 12 beta.

When I got the new Kodi 18, from the nightly build, and installed is when the issue started.

My mobile data works great for every other app, I don’t have an security apps running and no corporate profiles that can restrict data access to apps. The only issue is with Kodi.

So when I am in Wifi this is what I see when I look under system info and network.

Now when I turn off WiFi this is what the same screen shows.

I also have both logs, one with opening Kodi with WiFi off and trying to install a weather app. The second is with WiFi on and installing the same weather app.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly those are no debug logs and those pictures are not showing for me. Is this with or without jailbreak?

I thought they were debug logs. I can post them let me figure out how. And this is without jailbreak. The app is signed properly.

I have tried to reproduce this. It’s a bit hard because I have no lte reception in my flat (where I can debug kodi).

It might be something simple like a timeout issue - but most of the time installing addons on cellular works for me - even with edge.

Can you try this test version and have a look in system info - network?

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/darwi...-ios64.deb

It should show proper network information now - does it?

I wonder if the situation were it does not work for you might be due to having ipv6 only from your lte provider. But that’s just a guess for now.

I will install shortly and see if it shows connected. I’m not sure if it’s the ipv6 you mentioned, because it works when I use a mobile hotspot from my work phone. I’ll let you know how the test build works.

Do you know what’s technically different about the iOS11 test build posted above? Cause that version is the first for me (jailbroken on i6-64bit) to work on iOS11 on Cellular Data, all alpha, and stable releases only work when on WiFI.

The reason I ask is that although it’s v18 Leia, the ‘network_proc’ test-build is missing PVR and InputStream addons.

My test builds never have binary Addons to decrease build time - this build only has changes for showing proper network information in the systeminfo dialog - this should be only cosmetic really.

Can you confirm that the dialog shows proper info for you on cellular?

BTW this won‘t make Kodi 18 due to the long time the op didn‘t respond ... we missed the spot where I had time for this and it will not make the release ...

Yes, working perfectly! MAC address showing zeros but network is connected on cellular.

That disappointing, but at least the devs are aware. For a while there I thought I was alone! lol

Any chance you can compile a full Beta3
with Inputstream and PVR? Pretty please!?
