Will we ever see multithreaded movie scanning?
#1
Having some very weird library issues this afternoon, something broke, why, I don't know.

What I do know, is scanning about 70 TV shows and 2000 movies is very, very painful.
Any chance this will ever scan with 2 or three threads?

(I feel like the answer is probably no...)

The fastest way to rescan your media collection is to do a regular Video Library Export (as a backup), and thus have .nfo files with full metadata available including watched statuses. It will speed up the scanning multiple times.

Does that just dump .NFO files per path of each item?  I've done it a long while back - didn't know the view count was included (seriously?)

xml:
<playcount>1</playcount>
<lastplayed>2017-11-01</lastplayed>

<resume>
<position>0.000000</position>
<total>0.000000</total>
</resume>
Not just the play/view count, but also the last watched datetime, and/or the resume points (video stopped before the end).
You can enable the features via the advancedsettings.xml file.

Nfo files are created for each movie, TV show, episode and music video.

Well that's pretty useful, thanks for that - might need to find a plugin which does it automatically once a week  / day
