v17 Episodes named correctly but no loading in library
#1
Hi Smile Some episodes on my hard drive do not load onto the library when the library is updated. The files are named correctly (all episodes of the season are named in the exact same manner), yet some episodes load and some do not. I have even tried renaming the files in different ways and they still do not load.

What is even more weird, is that the one file loaded once, I removed it because I wanted to move it location, and then the scraper would not load it again. I have looked at a lot of the forums and web-links where users suggest proper nomenclature, but I have no idea why this is happening to my correctly named files.

Any help would be appreciated.

The scraper for TV episodes has been updated a couple of times during the last few weeks, so perhaps there is more room for improvement.

Can you provide the debug log (wiki) file via a pastebin website so we can get an initial picture of what is happening in your Kodi machine?
Which episodes are problematic?

Hi Klojum, and thank you for your prompt response.

I exited Kodi and restarted, and here is the log, taken from the following file: C:\Users\Media Centre\AppData\Local\Packages\XBMCFoundation.Kodi_4n2hpmxwrvr6p\LocalCache\Roaming\Kodi

https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/4zNqsn5j5N/

The episodes not loading are:
Firefly S01E15
Greys Anatomy S14E24
Mr Robot S02E00
Pillars of the Earth Part 1, 2, 7 and 8
Critical Role S00E70 (this loaded once but not after I removed it), S09E01, S09E02
Shannara Chronicles S01E10
Star Wars Rebels S01E02, S02E02, S03E02
Teen Wolf S06E03

The weird thing is that all other files in the season's folder are named in the same way and they work fine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no 15th episode of Firefly. I don't know about the others, but that one stood out to me.

Assuming you're using TheTVDB for scraping TV shows, make sure they're named according to how TheTVDB lists them on the site. For example:
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/firefly/seasons/all
Or if you're using TheMovieDB for scraping:
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1437-firef...uage=en-US

@"runningnaked" Renaming the files did not work. I had even renamed then to just the name of the show and SXXEXX with nothing else, and still they remained missing.

I tried editing the source from TVDB to the other default on Kodi, XEM. After it scraped through all the files, it loaded onto the library even less series (not just episodes). Changing back to TVDB did the same. I then removed the source altogether, and re-added it, and (after a very long while), half my series did not load. The weird thing is that they are in the Recently Added, and when I run the "Missing Videos" add-on, the same original few episodes are marked as missing.

Here is the log file: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/vJ8fnFC2yh/

I then restarted Kodi (to see if the restart's scrape did anything) and still nothing. Here is the log file after the restart: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/g4GShRnSdq/

To be honest I have no idea what is going on, and short of re-installing Kodi, I have no idea what to do.

There is something wrong with the way you have set up your library. There is nothing scanning. Are you sure you have added your sources correctly? Follow the Video Library Guide, the link is in My Signature below.

Also, ensure that you enable Debug Mode in Settings>System SEttings>Logging. Without it, the log does not tell us much.
