What is your video source on the Shield, UPnP only, or something directly via SMB or NFS..?
Are your scraper addons all updated?

I'm just using UPnP as source and scraper addons are all up to date.

If you are using FreeNAS, and updated to 11.1-U6, they changed SMB to v2 or v3 and got rid of support for SMB v1 (which is the only protocol that the Nvidia Shield Supports). There is a fix (search for SMB issues with 11.1-U6) that you can apply to your NAS. Again, assuming you are using a FreeNAS.

No, I'm using a Synology NAS and the share is added via UPnP. Any other ideas?

Ah ok, that is good to know. No, previously I added the share via SMB. But that is not working anymore. When I try to add a share via smb://diskstation I get an error Operation not permitted.

It is still not working. I typed the full IP address and the correct path. Always "Operation not permitted". I played around a bit with the smb settings on my Synology and when I changed "lowest-smb-protocol" to smb2 it still doesnt work, but now I get the error Connection timed out.

Can you enable Debug mode in SEttings>System Settings>Logging and resubmit. Are those path substitutions meant to be commented out?
